Our Greenest Pattern Yet!

Our banana products are green because they are:

Recycled from nature: Large amounts of fibrous material are produced from the discarded leaves of the banana harvest. The plant's leaves are recovered and made into fiber braids that are used in hand crafted products such as specialty papers, furniture & accessories, and now window coverings.

Sustainable: Bananas are perennial crops that are grown and harvested year-round. It's estimated that bananas have been around for 1 million years.

Artisan banana patterns are made of all natural banana fiber braids and cotton threads. No finishes or dyes are used. And each shade is hand crafted in an environmentally friendly workplace.

  • Please note that depending on each pattern, the factory may occasionally recommend the use of a specific lift mechanism for oversized shades.

  • A reasonable option for big openings is to split the width in two or more individual shades. In many cases, it is possible to install two or three shades on one headreail with a 1/4" gap between them and one continuous valance.

  • Maximum height on Roller Rollease is 40" for Chalma, Ozumba, Tepic and Zapopan.

  • Maximum height on Roller Rollease is 100" for Tahitis, Guanajuatos, Valencia and Merida.

  • All our headrails are made of solid pinewood.

  • 1 1/2" slots are made on each end of the boards to insert installation brackets (see right).

  • Headrail dimensions for each type of mechanism are shown below. Diagrams represent a side view of each headrail (below).

  • Miter cuts are available at no charge.

  • When ordering a mitered headrail, be sure to specify the measurement on the back of the headrail and the miter cut angle.

  • Cut outs are available at no extra charge.

  • When ordering, include a detailed drawing of the measurements and position of each cut out.

  • Minimum installation depth requirement should be considered according to the different headrail dimensions as shown.

  • Factory takes a 1/2" deduction from the specified width on all "inside mount" shades.

  • Any creases caused by shipping may be ironed out with a household type steamer.

  • Minor stretching and twinsting is inherent to our hand woven shades and material warping is sometimes inevitable. In most cases this can be solved easily by twisting the installed shade in the opposite direction of the warp.

  • Lift cords on Rollease systems might lose their adjustments during shipping. They can be readjusted easily by sliding the cord clips on the Rollease rods.

  • Crooked material may result from packing and shipping. In most cases this will correct itself after installing the shades and leaving them hanging for a few days.

  • KEEP CORDS SAFE FROM CHILDREN.
